Integrated Fish Farming in Cages – Great interesting and lucrative concept from Kenya

When you think about cages on a farm, chickens, rabbits and a few animals come to mind. Definitely not fish!

In Kenya, some fish farmers have developed an interesting concept of farming fish in cages.

These cages, which are made of local materials like wood and wire mesh, can house several hundred fish at a time. And according to the farmers, the fish grow faster in these cages than in large open ponds.
Using this cage system, more fish can be farmed in a pond due to the re-circulation feature of this concept, and less labour is required to harvest the fish too.
I don’t want to give away too much.
